
KATHY FUNAMOTO
Student and Family Support
Kathy has a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University. She is a retired elementary classroom teacher, math department head, enrichment teacher, and former elementary school principal, bringing a wealth of experience in supporting children and families. She works to support individuals with special learning needs. Her passion for enhancing the lives of her students is central to her work, as she works with students’ strengths to build social-emotional, academic, and executive functioning skills as well as self esteem, independence and self-advocacy. Building a positive rapport is paramount, as she believes that a positive relationship is a key to success. Kathy meets with children and adolescents in their homes, at school, and in the clinic.
